ICONOGRAFÍA DE LOS REYES MAGOS / Iconography of the Magi Kings

Resumen: El pasaje de la Adoración de los Reyes Magos o Epifanía es uno de los más importantes en el tiempo de la Navidad. En el mundo cristiano ya se reconoce este hecho como la adoración de tres reyes, que sus regalos fueron oro, incienso y mirra, o que Baltasar era de raza africana o negra pero ¿en realidad fue así? ¿que hay de cierto o falso en esta historia? ¿cuando surge la imagen del rey negro? o ¿Cómo se ha representado esta iconografía en el arte? Pues algunas de estas preguntas las comentamos en este post.

Summary: The passage of the Adoration of the Magi Kings or Epiphany is one of the most important in Christmas time. In the Christian world this is recognized as the adoration of three kings, their gifts were gold, incense and myrrh, or Baltasar was an African or with black race. But Was it so in reality? EL ARTE DE LOS BELENES / The Art of Nativity Scene

Resumen: La tradición de los Belenes arranca en el siglo XIII con San Francisco de Asís, quien por primera vez utilizó personas y después figuras en una cueva para recrear el Nacimiento. Posteriormente se difundió por Italia y España. Si en el siglo XVI y XVII se extiende la tradición por iglesias y conventos, será en el siglo XVIII cuando se impondrá como una moda gracias al Belén Napolitano. En la actualidad esta tradición continúa convirtiéndose en un arte.

Summary: The tradition of the Nativity Scene began in the thirteenth century with St. Francis of Assisi, who first used people and then figures in a cave to recreate the Nativity. Later it spread to Italy and Spain. The sixteenth and seventeenth century the tradition was extended in churches and convents. After that, in the eighteenth century was introduced as a fashion thanks to the Neapolitan Nativity Scene. Today this tradition continues being an art.
