IMÁGENES BARROCAS DE CRISTO CRUCIFICADO EN MADRID / Baroque images of Crucifixion in Madrid

Resumen: Una de las iconografías más famosas en la escultura del barroco español es la del Cristo Crucificado. Tiene una serie de características que repiten continuamente con algunas pequeñas diferencias y son magníficas obras que los escultores del momento realizaron para iglesias, conventos o cofradías. Muchas de estas imágenes aún se veneran y salen a la calle en las procesiones. En la ciudad de Madrid aún se conservan algunas de estas obras realizadas por afamados escultores de los siglos XVII y XVIII. En este post hacemos un comentario de algunas de ellas.

Summary: One of the most famous iconography in the Spanish Baroque sculpture is the Christ Crucified. It has a number of features that continuously repeated with some small differences and are magnificent works of sculptors of the time made for churches, convents and brotherhoods. Many of these images still are revered and go out in processions. In the city of Madrid still preserved some of these works by famous sculptors of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. In this post we comment some of them.

To build an altarpiece is quite complicated and involves the participation of many artists and different disciplines.
